UAVs started late in China, and were mainly used in the Chinese military at the beginning. In 2014, the contribution of China‘s UAV industry was mainly military UAVs, with a contribution rate of 90%, while the civilian sector only accounted for about 10%. However, the scale of demand in the civilian field has been greatly released in the past two years. Especially in 2016, drones have been recognized by consumers and industry customers at the consumer and industrial levels, and have partially achieved large-scale production. The scale of drones in the field has risen sharply, with a growth rate between 50% and 70%.
According to public information, in 2020 my country‘s civil drone market, agricultural, forestry and plant protection drones accounted for the largest proportion, accounting for 42%. Electric power inspection, logistics transportation, and security drones accounted for 19%, 16%, and 14%, respectively, and other drones accounted for 9%.
Broad application areas
Agricultural and forestry plant protection drones refer to unmanned aircraft used for agricultural and forestry plant protection operations. This type of drone is composed of a flying platform (fixed-wing, single-rotor, and multi-rotor), GPS flight control, and spraying mechanism. It is remotely controlled on the ground. Or GPS flight control can realize spraying operation, which can spray medicines, seeds, powders, etc.
The application in forestry can be divided into three aspects: pre-prevention, in-process solution control and timely remediation.
Obvious advantages such as high efficiency, energy saving and easy operation
At present, UAVs have obvious advantages in crop sowing (pollination), spraying pesticides, fertilizing, and monitoring growth and pests and diseases, whether compared with manual labor or compared with traditional machinery. Take pesticide spraying as an example. Compared with manual spraying, drone spraying can improve efficiency and save resources on the one hand, and can also improve food safety and environmental protection on the other hand.
